OUR STORY
5th Generation Family-Owned Business
The Fletcher family came to the Rocky Plains area of the Snowy Mountains in 1862. In 1919, we settled Bellevue Park, named for its beautiful view of the snow-dusted hills in the distance. Five generations later, and after years of perfecting the breed, Bellevue Park is a working farm producing some of Australia's finest Saxon Merino wool.
Today that wool is hand-dyed and sold to fibre artists around the world. We connect the ancient rhythms of a working farm to a modern, global community of makers who value quality, provenance and the warmth of something real.

What We Stand For

Provenance
From paddock to skein, every step of the journey is traceable and transparent. This is wool with a postcode and a family name.

Craft
Superfine Saxon Merino, bred over decades to produce ultrafine fleece at a micron of 16.8 and lower. This is a wool bred with handcraft in mind.

Stewardship
A ten-year plan for a clean, green farm: renewable energy, local jobs and land practices that protect what future generations will inherit.

INDUSTRY LEADER FINALIST 2026

In 2026, Jim Fletcher was named a finalist for Industry Leader of the Year at the Australian Yarn Awards. Jim is committed to add value to Australian-grown fleece and to give makers a traceable, high-quality yarn for both craft and wear.
Jim was one of the first to have his own wool processed into yarn and dyed on this scale, and today, he mentors other up-and-coming growers and dyers, passing on what he has learnt so the next generation of Australian fibre can find its way to your hands.
Men in Yarn
Jim is also part of the founding group of Men in Yarn, a movement that champions yarn craft as a way for men to look after their mental health and wellbeing. The idea is a simple one: create safe, welcoming spaces where men can talk, connect and find some calm through the rhythm of working with their hands.
It is a cause close to home for us. Wool has always been about more than the finished piece. There is something steadying in the making, and we are proud to see that put to good use for men's mental health.
